Locals gathered to protest against obscene statements against Russian President on Rustavi 2 Channel

Locals are gathering in front of the building of Rustavi 2 Channel in Tblisi on Sunday to protest obscene statements that were made by host Georgy Gabunia on his program addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier in the day.

The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, condemned «the incitement of hatred, verbal aggression, insults and provocative statements made today at Rustavi 2.»

“They run counter to all Georgian traditions, serve only to divide and heighten tensions in the country, with Russia and in the region,” she wrote on Twitter.

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze also slammed Rustavi 2 on Twitter for "provocation and an attempt to destabilize the country."
