Pope Francis calls on Catholics to join him for a 'prayer for humanity' via streaming from Vatican City on Friday March 27 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ceremony will conclude with the eucharistic 'Urbi et Orbi' blessing usually reserved for Christmas, Easter and other special occasions.

He invited all Catholics to participate spiritually and noted that all who join in the prayer will have the possibility of receiving a plenary indulgence.
