Russia: Fancy a taste of Trump? This cafe serves up US presidential sandwiches

November 01, 2016 at 19:20 (GMT) · Published

Roll's Race café presented their seasonal specialities on Tuesday - the Trump Roll and Hillary Roll sandwiches. The company urges potential lunchers to 'taste Trump' or to 'lick Hillary' which may refer to the melted cheese that covers the latter sandwich. That cheese is added to resemble Clinton's haircut while Trump's hair is imitated with curry sauce. The chef of the café, Igor Panteleev, initially decided to dedicate his new idea to Donald Trump, whom he believes has a more friendly attitude towards Russia. The cook later added a sandwich of Hillary Clinton to the menu in order to meet democratic standards. Panteleev said "not taking into account political views, it was Trump and Hillary's culinary and gastronomic tastes that I studied, and having learned this history I created these rolls." The chef said that he had examined almost all the interviews in which the candidates had mentioned their culinary tastes, before using the information to create the sandwiches. The Trump Roll boasts several types of pepper, as well as pickled and fresh cucumbers, and mustard and onion while Hillary is created from marble beef, plentiful olives and chili, and sun-dried tomatoes. Igor Panteleev has said he would like to go on and create a dish devoted to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
