Hundreds of contestants gathered in Antwerp to fight for a prize at 2019 World Beard and Moustache Championships, on Saturday.
Around 500 of facial hair enthusiasts from all over the world showed off their moustaches and beards.
The contest organisers picked out three main categories for the event - the moustaches, the partial beards and the full beards, with up to six classes in each, saying that three top places in each class get prizes.
"What else could you want? Just beautiful, curly moustaches, any kind of style and that's all you got and a good beer," shared his excitement Benjamin Gardner, a contestant from the United States.
For Russian participant Alexey Kozlov it's his second championship. He said that after coming third in Austin two years ago, he decided to change a category hoping to finally win the top prize.
Luke Sumpter, a winner in one of the categories shared his thoughts after the victory: "I'm beyond excited, I couldn't imagine that when I started seven, seven years ago I grew this beard. I'm first in the world, in this category and this feels amazing."
The event takes place on May 17-19 at the Flanders Meeting and Convention Center.
