'Peruvian Rapunzel' aims to reach world record for longest locks

Noemi Elizabeth Romero Huaman, a woman from Peru known as the 'Peruvian Rapunzel' aims to break the world record for longest hair, the full length of which can be seen in footage filmed in Lima on Saturday June 8.

The 24-year-old woman has 1.78 metre (5.8 feet) long hair that takes up to an hour to wash, comb and braid, and she is considering signing up for the Guinness Book of World Records to see if she can dethrone Argentina's Lorenzatti April, whose hair was 1.52 meters long.

When asked about how growing her hair that long began, Romero said it started as a game, but that It's an inheritance thing she added, as long hair runs in her family and any hair growing product is used by her.
