Real Madrid FC presented French left-back player Ferland Mendy as its latest addition in Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Wednesday.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez welcomed the 24-year-old player who was transferred from Olympique Lyonnais after signing a deal worth an initial €48 million (US$54 million), with a possible further €5 million in incentive payments.

"It's an honour to be in this club, the biggest club in the world," Mendy told journalists.

Since joining Lyon in July 2017, Mendy represented France four times and competed in the Champions League.
