Fans of the Brazilian and Peruvian men's national football teams gathered in Sao Paulo on Saturday to watch their teams playing in the Copa America.

Many Peruvians travelled to Brazil to cheer on the team led by forward Paolo Guerrero, with one family travelling from the Peruvian province of Sandia in the hope of seeing a victory for their boys in red and white.

Others travelled all across Brazil to follow the tournament. "I went to Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and now Sao Paulo to support my team", said another supporter.

Brazilian fans showed optimism ahead of the match, as one fan said: "I think Brasil is doing a good job, even without Neymar, but playing well on the field, maybe with Gabriel Jesus and Everton the team will do well and Brazil can succeed, Copa America is for Brazil and Brazil will be champion."

Brazil beat Peru 5-0 to reach winning Group A and reaching the quarter-finals of 2019 Copa America on Saturday.
