Brazil: Peru fans celebrate reaching Copa America final after shock win over Chile

Brazil, Porto Alegre

Peruvian fans made it a night to remember as Peru knocked out reigning champions Chile with a 3:0 win in the semifinals at the Arena do Gremio in Porto Alegre on Wednesday, to secure a spot against Brazil in the Copa America finals.

Peruvian fans were seen chanting and lighting the sky with fire torches with music and drums playing in the background, with one Peruvian fan saying that this was the "best game of my life, I'm going to Rio to the final."

There was dismay in the rival camp as 'favourites' Chile crashed out of the tournament with one disappointed Chilean fan Marcelo saying that "Chile did nothing, we where expecting more, it's a good team, bi-champion of Copa America but today unfortunately it's not a happy day."

Peru will take on hosts Brazil with an aim to win their first Copa America title since 1975, as they clash at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, 7 July.
