France: 150 evicted migrants set up camp near town hall in protest
As many as 150 Latin American migrants, at least 30 of which are children, have been camping next to the town hall of Saint-Ouen, just north of Paris for nearly two weeks after they were evicted from a squat, as shown in footage shot on Saturday.
The migrants set up camp near the town hall demanding a dialogue with the municipality to find solutions, according to Chanel, a migrant from the Dominican Republic.
"All we're asking for is a place to live. We're not asking for more from the government, just shelter," she said. "We decided to come here, close to the town hall, to see if we can find solutions and open a dialogue with the mayor but he doesn't want to speak with us."
