USA: Inter's new signing Alexis Sanchez will return to action for Chile

United States, Los Angeles
September 04, 2019 at 01:38 GMT +00:00 · Published

Inter Milan's new loan signing Alexis Sanchez bemoaned a lack of chances at former club Manchester United when speaking at a press conference on Tuesday ahead of Chile's fixture against rivals Argentina.

"I always played 60 minutes, I played well, then another game I didn't play. But if you check statistics, I never lost a game as a starter," Sanchez told journalists.

Since moving to United in January 2018, Sanchez started only 31 of 77 possible games and completed 13 of those.

He was the club's highest earner, on a reported £400,000 ($485,000; €440,000) a week.

Before his move to Inter, Sanchez was not involved in Man U's pre-season matches and did not feature in the opening league fixtures. The stated reason was an injury, although Sanchez now thinks he is ready to play after the Copa America.

Chile play Argentina in Los Angeles on Friday evening, before flying to San Pedro de Sula for a friendly against Honduras next Tuesday.
