Germany, Hamburg
September 05, 2019 at 19:37 GMT +00:00 · Published

The head coach of the Netherlands men's national football team Ronald Koeman and Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk spoke to the press at the Volkparkstadion in Hamburg on Thursday, one day ahead of their Euro 2020 qualifying match against Germany in Group C.

"This is a key game for qualification. Northern Ireland has won everything and we have to see what happens tomorrow with the table" said van Dijk

"We focus on tomorrow's game anyway to win it", he added.

Van Dijk has been in fine form since signing for Liverpool in January 2018, earning him international acclaim as well as the UEFA Men's Player of the Year award.

Northern Ireland are currently leading Group C with victories against Estonia and Belarus while Germany are second with nine points from their past three games, leaving the Netherlands in the third position with three points but a game in hand.
