USA: Neymar to return for Brazil-Colombia clash - Tite

United States, Miami
September 05, 2019 at 23:37 GMT +00:00 · Published

Brazil head coach Tite confirmed that Neymar would return for Friday's friendly against Colombia. He made the comments at a press conference in Miami on Thursday.

Tite noted that Neymar "is ready to play" and "in the condition to do what the team needs," adding that "we are not going to give up on a talent like him."

"Do you know about the team's performance with or without Neymar? Exactly the same. The whole team grew stronger [given] this fact. But at the same time, Neymar is indispensable to this team," said Tite.

Neymar has not played since he suffered an ankle injury in a friendly against Qatar, which ruled him out of the Copa America. The Brazil team still went on to win the tournament, their first Copa America since 2007, without the talisman.

Speculation around Neymar's future had been rife this summer, with rumours that the former Barcelona star was set to return to Catalonia in a mega-deal after a falling out with the Paris Saint Germain hierarchy.
