Members of the cabinet of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived at his official residence in Tokyo on Wednesday, as the list of the new ministers was announced, following a reshuffle.

Most notably, Toshimitsu Motegi, who is known for his role as a negotiator in the Trans-Pacific Partnership and a Japan-US trade deal, will become the new foreign minister. Motegi will be taking over the position from Taro Kono, who will become the new defence minister.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Taro Aso and Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga will remain in their positions, which they assumed with Abe's coming to power in 2012.

Shinjiro Koizumi, son of former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and himself a future prime minister hopeful, will be the Environment Minister. He is set to become Japan's third youngest minister since World War 2, with the age of 38.
