The respective coaches and key players from the Argentina and Spanish basketball teams commented at a press conference in Beijing ahead of their FIBA World Cup final showdown on Sunday.

"Both teams sure we planning for play the game very well, play hard, play passionate of course. So who play a little better will be a champion," said Argentinian coach Sergio Hernandez.

"We felt that we were in a stage where we can compete with everybody and I think not a lot of people thought we were right. And, I'm not saying that from the anger or revenge or anything like that. It's okay, you know we needed to prove it and we needed to show it," Argentina player Luis Scola added, commenting on his teams unpredicted ascent to the the final.

Spanish coach Sergio Scariolo also commented at the press conference that both his and the Argentinian side "overachieved" in their unforeseen string of victories to reach the final.

"This is a great opportunity for us for young players, for the country. And, I think it is very important you know, for the Spanish people, and the young players [that] come to this national team and [we] try to make this happen," Spanish player Rudy Fernandez added.

The FIBA World Cup final will be held later on Sunday with both teams defying the odds to reach the final remaining undefeated throughout the competition. For Spain it will be the first time they have reached this stage since 2006 and for Argentina the first time since 2002.
