Hong Kong: Radical protesters warn of 'stronger force' in behind-the-scenes look

Marked by an unwavering presence in their mass rallies, some Hong Kong protesters have been verging on the radical to ensure their demands met and their voices heard.

Clad in black, their faces covered and armed with their signature umbrellas, these protesters were seen setting up barricades and equipping themselves as if heading for a street war on Sunday.

"The police are using extreme force to beat citizens, this is not reasonable, and I think that as a Hong Kong citizen, I should stand up for what is right," said a protester who warned of a "stronger force" if their deadlines are not met.

Later the Hong Kong streets became the scene of fierce clashes as police fired teargas on protesters. Many protesters used mirrors and lasers to shine light at police officers.

Hong Kong has been rocked by demonstrations sparked by a proposed extradition bill since March. Despite the law being withdrawn, demonstrations evolved into a movement with wider grievances.
