Russia: Deputy FM Ryabkov discusses importance of Russo-American dialogue *PARTNER CONTENT* *EXCLUSIVE *

Dialogue between Moscow and Washington "is of crucial importance", Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said an interview in Moscow on Monday.

The situation in Syria was one example of successful cooperation between the two countries, Ryabkov stated, adding that despite their different goals in the war-torn country both Russia and the US saw the usefulness of their de-conflicting arrangement.

Going on to discuss Iran, the deputy foreign minister said that US President Donald Trump's "maximum pressure policy" was not working the way Washington thought it would.

"You need to negotiate, you need to 'arrive at a deal', to use a favourite word of President Trump, but deal means not just to take but also to give, it's give and take," he said.

On Venezuela, Ryabkov said that Moscow would not accept any use of force to remove President Nicolas Maduro from power.

"Use of force or threat of force are inadmissible, according to international law," he concluded.
