UN: Trump says Boris Johnson 'not going anywhere' after Supreme Court ruling

US President Donald Trump told UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson that he'll win future court battles after his suspension of Parliament was deemed illegal by the UK Supreme Court, as the two leaders talked to reporters in New York City on Tuesday.

"I know him well. He's not going anywhere, don't worry about him," Trump said about Johnson.

Trump commented on how his administration had lost a series of rulings during his first months in office, before winning major ones. "Since then we've almost run the table, we've won a lot of decisions so I'm sure that's going to happen to you," Trump told Johnson.

"We respect the judiciary in our country, we respect the court. I disagree profoundly with what they had to say," Johnson said.

Trump was also asked why he personally ordered to freeze hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine, days before pressuring the country to investigate the son of former US vice-president Joe Biden. The US President said it was because "other countries should be paying also."

"Why isn't Germany, why isn't France? Why aren't these other countries paying fair? Why are we paying all the time?" Trump asked.
