Argentine football legend Lionel Messi walked the red carpet at the Parc del Forum venue in Barcelona on Thursday, for the premiere of the Cirque du Soleil performance based on his life, the ‘Messi10’.

Accompanied by his wife Antonella Rocuzzo and family, Messi was seen posing for pictures and talking to some of the performers.

Celebrities such as Spanish actress Paz Vega, Spanish singer Daniel 'Mono Loco', former Olympic synchronised swimming medalist Gemma Mengual, and Barcelona players Luis Suarez and Ansu Fati also attended the premiere.

The first show was held on Thursday at the Parc del Forum venue involving 47 performers from 15 countries in a 90-minute performance. There will reportedly be 32 sessions in Catalonia and then there will be a world tour in other countries.

Cirque du Soleil's creative team announced that the show will allocate four tents of a total of 12,000 square meters, reproducing the surroundings of a football stadium, and will allow audiences to talk in a virtual way with the player.

According to the official web site of the event, "the public will be able to witness the story of a young man born with great ambition and capable of overcoming any obstacle and also wants to become the best number 10 in the world."
