France: I will fight against use of GLI-F4 grenades – independent journalist hit by grenade *EXCLUSIVE* *PARTNER CONTENT*

Independent journalist Julien who was hit by a grenade during the 'Yellow Vest' protests said he will "fight against the use of GLI-F4 grenades" by French police in his exclusive interview with RT France in Paris on Monday.

"I will try to fight against the use of GLI-F4 grenades, which are totally, from my point of view, war weapons, and of LBD [rubber bullet guns]. I was angry at the police because I understand that they have to defend themselves in situations of revolt, but to use such powerful and uncontrollable weapons? After all, they can hit journalists, passers-by, because it can happen that there are passers-by, or other people there can be there like other people," stressed Julien.

He said that protesters "launched an 'attack' on police with cobblestones" and policemen "responded with numerous tear gas grenades, GLI-F4 grenades and, GM2L grenades it seems," to disperse the crowd.

As a result of grenade's explosion, the journalist got numerous wounds and a broken nose. He stated that he had already "filed a complaint to the Office of the Inspector General of the National Police" and will retain a lawyer in the nearest time.

The 'Yellow Vest' protests began on November 17, 2018, and were initially sparked by a fuel price rise, but quickly spread throughout France and evolved into a general expression of dissatisfaction with the status quo.
