President of the International Ice Hockey Federation Rene Fasel talked about the recent decision by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) when he was participating in the International Hockey Forum in Moscow on Thursday.

Fasel pointed out that its "very difficult" to change the host country of the hockey championships in this case Russia.

The President of Hockey Federation expressed his hope that CIS decision would not be a "political decision" and added, "We have to wait for the decision."

Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov also attended the forum and explained the forum importance saying "The fact that the forms are held for the fourth time, and every year there are more and more participants in the forums, it is important. A lot of foreign guests, this tells us that the international participant and president of the international federation, support the development of hockey, and support our side as the organizer of a major competition in the world, it is very important for us, I am grateful to Rene for supporting our forum."

Russia is expected to host, the Youth Hockey World Cup in 2023 and the Women's World Cup in 2021, and many other championships of other sports.

WADA unanimously decided to back the recommendations by the Compliance Review Committee (CRC), in accordance with which Russian athletes will be forbidden from competing under their flag at world championships and major sporting events for at least four years, amongst other punishments for alleged interference with anti-doping data.

WADA’s Executive Committee stripped RUSADA of compliance status at a meeting in Lausanne on Monday. Russia was banned for four years from participating in major international competitions as well as hosting them.
