An advanced Transmission Electron Microscope, as well as the fourth generation of the Iranian Surena humanoid robots (Surena IV), was unveiled during the 20th specialized exhibition of research, technology achievements and Techmart in Tehran, on Tuesday.

Footage shows Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari and Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mansour Gholami as they were welcomed by Surena IV at the entrance of the exhibition venue.

Sattari spoke to the press during his visit saying "You observe that the level of the exhibition has improved in comparison with previous rounds as well as state-of-the-art devices that are made inside Iran."

He added saying that "most of our laboratory equipment is now prepared by local companies and [we are] also exporting the products of these companies in the field of laboratory equipment which previously we had no idea we would be able to do."

The SRobot2119, developed by Iranian tech company Aicell was also showcased in the fair where it helped inaugurate the exhibition by bringing the Quran and scissors for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"This robot has different capabilities including cartography and a positioning system, to find a position in an unknown environment. For instance, if it is in an unknown environment, it finds its location and creates its map and it will be your smart guide afterwards," Amini the managing director of Aicell Company said.

The 20th specialized exhibition of research, technology achievements and Techmart kicked off on December 17 in Tehran. It aims at creating a space for the commercialisation of applied research and development achievements as well as supporting knowledge-based economic development by providing new opportunities for investment.
