Ukraine: Man sets himself on fire outside Zelenskiy's office in Kiev

A man set himself on fire at a health workers' protest outside the Ukraine's presidential office in Kiev on Wednesday.

Other protesters rushed to extinguish the flames and managed to put off the fire quickly. The man, who identified himself as Alexander Burlakov, suffered burns to his face and body.

Burlakov himself explained that his act was not connected with the healthcare protest.

"For five years I have been complaining about the land issue. Our local authorities, administration are lying to us. I am talking about Glushko, Gluschenko, Misyura [local deputies]. I can't see the way out. I didn't do anything wrong to anybody. I just want to be heard, people to be heard," the man said, before being taken to hospital.

Later President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's spokesperson said in a statement that the man had suffered only light injuries, adding that "we are going to find out what problems this man has, what problems he wanted to solve."
