UK: 'Government business will continue' - Raab after PM Johnson moved to intensive care

UK's First Secretary of State and Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab assured that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is "in safe hands" following his move to the intensive care unit of St Thomas Hospital, over worsening COVID-19 symptoms. He added that "government business will continue," during his address in London on Monday.

"During the course of this afternoon, the prime minister's condition worsened and on the advice of the medical team he was moved in to a critical care unit. In light of those circumstances, the Prime Minister asked me, his vice-secretary, to deputise for him when necessary in driving forward the government's plans to defeat coronavirus. "

Raab said Johnson was "receiving excellent care at St. Thomas' hospital" before praising medical staff "up and down the country" for their contribution in the fight against coronavirus.

Johnson was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, 10 days after he tested positive to the coronavirus.
