UK: British public reacts as PM Boris Johnson taken to intensive care

Residents in Luton reacted on Tuesday to the announcement that Prime Minister Boris Johnson was taken to intensive care due to worsening coronavirus symptoms.

"I think it's very sad news for the country," said Saima, a Luton resident, "we need him to direct the country in a better way."

"It's a huge shock," continued another Luton resident, Christopher, "it just shows that this virus affects anyone. There are no limits, no boundaries."

Boris Johnson spent the night in St Thomas hospital in London where he was taken to on Monday evening.

UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab who temporarily took over as the government leader was set to give an update on Johnson's condition later on Tuesday.
