Serbia: Kosovo reimposes curfew in bid to curb coronavirus spread

The government of Kosovo decided to reimpose a nightly curfew between 9:00 pm to 5:00 am in Pristina, Ferizaj, Prizren, and Vushtrri starting on Monday, in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Locals were seen walking down the streets of Pristina on Monday, with police approaching some of those sitting on benches or at restaurant tables, reminding about the curfew.

While talking to the press, local Lum stated, "I think there's been a lot of confusion and I think we have to learn to adapt, as institutions, but also as people to adapt to respecting the regulations and I think it's been a bit confusing in terms of what our rules for everyone."

"Although it's very simple when you think of it. You just have to go home and reduce the contact as much as possible," he added.

According to reports, the number of COVID-19 infections has been on the rise in the region, with Kosovo registering over 3,500 cases and 75 related deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
