Invalid date · Publicado

RIA Novosti Ukraine Editor-in-Chief Kirill Vyshinsky pleaded not guilty in Podolsk court in Kiev on Tuesday to charges relating to alleged violations of land privatisation law.

"I hope that now those people who have come to power, they are more sober-minded, they understand that my business, which is being discussed at various levels, including in Brussels, in the European Parliament, in the OSCE - it simply humiliates the country," Vyshinsky said.

The next court session is scheduled for July 3 where it may possible to consider a change in the current preventive measures such as his detention, according the journalist's lawyer Andrei Domansky.

The RIA Novosti journalist was detained in Kiev on May 15, 2018. He is being held on suspicion of treason, which carries a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
