Don't rock my boat! Dozens flock to Bavaria for race in pig troughs

август 12, 2019 в 12:18 GMT +00:00 · Опубликовано

The 25th anniversary of a race in pig troughs, or the 'Sautrog' race, took place on the banks of the river Rednitz in Nuremberg, in the German state of Bavaria on Sunday.

27 teams took part in this year's competition, with some of the participants seen successfully ringing the bell hanging over the river, while others failed, falling into water.

CSU politicians Peter Daniel Forster and Andreas Krieglstein were also spotted taking part in the event.

Bernd Fischer, the founder of race gave some tips for the participants: "Drive against the current and then let drift off easily, then you come to the bell and do not slip too much water into the trough."

The team called 'Gonzo and Icebear' were clear winners with an impressive time of 32,29 seconds.
